As you may have already noticed, we have already had to cancel the Klangtherapie festival. And our new baby, Metamorphosia, will not see the light of day this year either. According to current Bavarian policy, open air events with only 500 seats and other requirements (compulsory testing or vaccination/recovery, social distancing) should be allowed to take place even with low incidences. It is clear that there are currently frequent changes to the regulations. But we still think it is unlikely that it will be possible to celebrate such festivals as we know and love them in 4 weeks' time (in Bavaria). A festival on the field of honor without movement, closeness and spontaneity is somehow unimaginable. Even if events with more visitors are allowed over the course of the summer, this would mean extreme restrictions for us. In addition to the usual effort, a lot of energy would have to be invested in the necessary infrastructure (e.g. test station, seating, more sanitary facilities,...) and organization (e.g. hygiene concept, communication with authorities).
It feels strange & sad to cancel the festival. We have put a lot of joy & time into the planning to create something new on the field of honor with you.
At the same time, it's also a weight off our shoulders to finally have certainty for the summer and time for other plans and projects and the beauty of life. So we are pregnant with Metamorphosia for a few more months...
And one thing is certain: it will be born. We want to bring a new festival to life with you. A weekend full of inspiration, growth, change and joy. Let's use this summer together to create such places everywhere on a small scale. Especially in these intense times, we need moments of community and lightness. Grab a handful of dear people, go out into nature, make music together, dance, be free.
We all carry a piece of Metamorphosia in our hearts. And next year, all of us together.
