What parking ticket categories are there?

The arrival of the guests is one of the biggest CO2 polluters of a festival. In order to make a sustainable and relaxed journey possible for you, we offer a bus shuttle. You can find all information about the bus shuttle under "Arrival" here in the FAQ.

Car ticket

If you arrive by car, you need a parking lot ticket for 15€.

WoMo ticket normal camping

If you want to stay with your sleeping car (buses, campers, caravans, motorhomes and cars with mattresses) on the normal campsite at Freund:innen with a tent, you need one of our very limited Womo tickets for 45€ per sleeping car.

We reserve the right not to grant you access to the campsite after a visual inspection by our staff if you do not meet the above criteria.

WoMo ticket family camping

The same applies to the family ticket as to the normal WoMo ticket, with one addition: this ticket is only valid with children on board!

What happens if the camper-tickets for the normal campsite are sold out?

If you have not received a camper-ticket, you will unfortunately not be able to stay at the campsite. Instead, you will have to spend the night in our parking lot. Please note: It is not allowed to set up tents of friends there. However, a retractable awning or similar is fine.

Upgrade to a camper-ticket possible on site.
In good weather conditions (= more passable field area) we will allocate a small contingent of camper-tickets on site. If you would like to upgrade, please contact the parking lot attendants directly. If there are still tickets available, you can pay the difference of 15 euros and move to the normal campsite.

First come, first serve!

Are there any discounts for residents?

Yes, there are resident tickets for our neighbors from the surrounding villages. Residents within a radius of one kilometer receive free admission. Residents within a 3 km radius pay a reduced price of 50 euros. It is not necessary to register in advance. Come to the festival with your identity card to the info container at the entrance to the festival site. Your address will tell us whether you are a resident or not. If you are not registered here, we unfortunately cannot grant you discounted admission. Children and young people under the age of 16 can enter free of charge with their parents. However, our youth protection regulations must be observed in all cases. These can be found in the youth & family section.

Will there be a box office?

There will be a box office. However, tickets are cheaper in advance.
With every pre-sale ticket you help us to grow the festival bit by bit - and to put our energy into what makes this weekend special.

When is the deadline for advance ticket sales?

The presale ends on 4.8.26 at 9 am. After that, you can still get tickets at the box office, but at a higher price than in advance.

No separate tickets will be sent out for the bus shuttles. Please bring your order confirmation to the bus as proof of purchase and present it to the driver.

Can I get to you by public transport?

The easiest way is to take the train to one of the following stations: Bamberg or Nuremberg. From there, you can easily hop on one of our shuttle buses.

There are also public buses from Bayreuth directly to us in Wadendorf (bus timetable Bayreuth - Hollfeld), or from Bamberg via Hollfeld to Wadendorf (bus timetable Bamberg - Hollfeld, then bus timetable Hollfeld - Bayreuth).

By car

Are there parking spaces?

Yes, we have a spacious parking lot a few minutes' walk from the campsite. If you arrive with a motorized vehicle, you will need a parking ticket for 15€.

We recommend traveling by shuttle for a relaxed and sustainable journey. You can find the information one paragraph above.

Can I drive directly to the campsite?

The campsite may only be entered with a sleeping car. You will need a Womo ticket for this.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to drive to the campsite just to load and unload your luggage. However, it is only a 5-8 minute walk from the parking lot to the campsite.

Watch out for controls!

Police checks must be expected throughout the area, both on the outward and return journeys. So find out in advance who is driving and don't let anyone who is not sober drive your vehicle.
Stay calm and polite, but be aware of your rights!

Further information on arrival

When can I arrive?

You can arrive from Thursday, 10 am. Earlier arrival is not possible as the campsite will not yet be accessible.

How do I find your festival site?

The Klangtherapie-Festival takes place in the heart of Franconian Switzerland near Scherleithen, Plankenfels. The nearest larger towns are Bamberg, Bayreuth and Nuremberg. On the A70 between Bamberg and Bayreuth, take the Stadelhofen exit in the direction of Hollfeld and Plankenfels. Shortly before Plankenfels, turn off towards Wadendorf at the Alte Eisenbahn restaurant. After Scherleithen there is a dirt road on the right that leads you to the festival site.

The address for your navigation system is Scherleithen, 95515 Plankenfels.

Can I arrive by bike?

Sure! There are wonderful routes through Franconian Switzerland to us. If you need some inspiration, we have put together three possible routes for you.

From Bayreuth: https://out.ac/3wnJGG

From Bamberg: https://out.ac/3wnKGr

From Forchheim: https://out.ac/3wnKAT

Would you like to start a carpool or are you looking for one?

We offer you the opportunity to network. You are welcome to post offers and requests in our forum!

Everything around camping

Camping info & facilities

When am I allowed on the campsite?

The campsite will be open on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 10 am. You will not be admitted to the campsite before this time and without a ticket!

So that everything can be prepared smoothly, we ask you to give the crew the necessary space for the final preparations and not to enter the site until the official entrance.

Are there different areas on the campsite?

Yes, we offer three different areas for camping.
Music systems and generators are not permitted on any of the campsites - you will find music around the clock on the festival site.

Normal campsite
The largest area of our campsite. Here you can relax with other festival visitors and enjoy your time - away from the hustle and bustle of the festival.

Quiet camping
This area is a few minutes further away from the festival site and offers more peace and quiet.
Ask our parking lot crew when you arrive - they will show you the way.

Family camping
There are two options for families:

  • a quieter area away from the action
  • an area closer to the festival (but a little louder)

Talk to our guides on site to find the right spot for you.

Is there electricity at the campsite?

No, we are a small DIY festival, so there is no electricity at our campsite. If you want to keep your drinks cool, we recommend pure physics. Google "evaporative cooling sun" - you'll find help there.

Water points / showers

At the campsite and in the festival area you will find free water points to fill up your canisters/bottles.

There are no showers on the campsite - but it's not far to the festival grounds, where you'll find convenient shower containers for a small fee.

Toilets

There are toilets at the campsite - here we swear by waterless composting toilets, which do not require any chemicals or water. This means you're also protecting the environment when you go to the toilet and your poo can rot into compost. Try it out - we wouldn't want to be without this type of toilet. You can also find flush toilets for a small fee on our festival site - just a short walk from the campsite.

Are pavilions allowed?

Yes, of course. Feel free to build your own festival castle. But please don't just leave tents and pavilions lying around and buy high-quality material that will last longer - our environment will thank you for it.

Can my dog come with me?

No!

In order to ensure a safe and pleasant festival experience for everyone, dogs and other animals are not permitted on the entire site. This applies to both the festival site and the campsite.

Behavior & Safety

What about barbecuing and stoking fires?

Be prepared that barbecues will not be allowed. In recent years, due to the drought, there has usually been a forest fire risk of level 4-5, and we assume that it will be similar this year. Open fires are generally not permitted.

Can I play my own music on the campsite?

Better not. The campsite is your base camp - for relaxing, resting and recharging. Emergency generators and large systems stay at home. Music takes place around the clock on the festival site. :) The rest is about mutual respect.

Are drinks allowed on the campsite?

Yes, of course. Bring what you like. The campsite is your home for a few days.

Behavior & Safety

Can I drive my car or camper onto the campsite?

Parking and camping are separate. This means that your cars must be parked in the parking lot. From there it is a 5-10 minute walk to the campsite.

If you want to park your sleeping car (buses, campers, motorhomes, caravans and cars with mattresses) on the campsite or the family campsite (only possible with children on board), you need one of our very limited Womo tickets. We reserve the right not to grant you access to the campsite after a visual inspection by our staff if you do not meet the above criteria. You will not be able to leave the campsite in between, but will only be granted access once.

What you can do if the WoMo tickets are sold out:

If you have not managed to get hold of a WoMo ticket, you will unfortunately not be able to stand on the campsite. Instead, you can spend the night in our parking lot, which is only a few minutes' walk from our campsite. There will be a WoMo parking row there. Attention: It is not allowed to set up tents of friends there. However, a retractable awning or similar is fine. Please buy a PKW-Ticket for this.

Upgrade to a WOMO-TICKET possible on site in good weather

In good weather (= more passable field area) we will allocate a small contingent of WOMO-TICKETS on site. If you would like to upgrade, please contact the parking lot attendants directly. If there are still tickets available, you can pay the difference of 15 euros in cash and drive to the normal campsite.

First come, first serve!

Camping is already included in the ticket price - you do not need an additional camping ticket.

Everything about the everyday festival life

When does the Klangtherapie festival start and end?

It all kicks off on Thursday at 6 pm. All the energy of the site is concentrated in one place - the Sandpalast. And when the music starts, everyone feels at the same time: now it starts again.

The first workshops and lectures start on Friday morning. Those who arrive early are right there.

The music continues until 6 a.m. on Monday morning. The last workshop takes place on Sunday evening.

Is the Klangtherapie Festival a safe space?

The freedom to be who we are.

Our festival is a place of freedom and respectful interaction. For many, this means dressing the way they feel comfortable or moving freely while dancing - without being stared at, danced at, chatted up or touched.

For us, awareness means consciousness, sensitivity and attentiveness. That is why we have had an awareness team for several years now.

Our greatest concern is that everyone feels safe and comfortable. For this to succeed, we all need to pay attention and get involved. We want to create a festival that is as inclusive and respectful as possible. That is why we are actively committed to ensuring that any form of discrimination - be it racist, sexist, sexualized, homophobic, anti-disability, adultist or otherwise exclusionary - has no place here. Our wish is to create a space in which everyone can feel free without having to fear attacks or border violations.

Consent is key. Whatever you share with each other - it should be based on mutual consent. Asking questions creates clarity for everyone involved, gives room to say no and ensures that encounters remain respectful and pleasant. In this way, we can create an atmosphere together in which everyone can develop freely.

NO NIPPLES POLICY at the bars: Patriarchal power structures are to blame: Not everyone can move around naked in everyday life. This injustice must be abolished. In solidarity, we are celebrating 4 festival days with a NO NIPPLES POLICY at the bars. More information can be found here.

If you feel uncomfortable, are experiencing a difficult situation or simply need a break, we are here for you. Feel free to come to us or call us on 0176-50865211. You will always find a sympathetic ear at the Place of the Senses in the quiet tent. Our team is easy to recognize on the premises - we wear pink high-visibility vests.

We look forward to exchanging ideas with you at workshops, talks and discussions. Let's live the change together!

Klangtherapie Merch & Screen Printing Stand

Fancy a bit of Klangtherapie at home? Then bring your own fabric and come to the screen printing stand. There you can print legendary Klang-motifs onto your belongings.

You can get our Klangtherapie merchandise (hoodies & cotton bags in this year's design, corduroy caps and socks, stickers & posters) at the kiosk next to the bass temple.

Can I take drinks onto the festival site?

You are welcome to bring your own water. There are also free water stations on the premises for refilling.

Am I allowed to smoke weed on the premises?

Yes - with one exception. Around the Kids Space and in the immediate vicinity of children, please don't. This is not a rule from above, but mutual respect. If you forget, you are welcome to point it out.

No photos on the dancefloor

No.

Audio and video recordings - even for private use - are not permitted. It is possible that infringements may be prosecuted by various artists.

What happens during a storm?

In the event of a severe thunderstorm, we will have to evacuate the festival site. Please follow the instructions of the security staff, leave the area immediately and go to your cars (this is the safest place) or alternatively to your tents or to the assembly point above the info container. If you cannot find a safe place or do not know where to go, contact the security staff. Keep calm in any case. When the music starts again, you can return to the area and continue dancing!

Everything about joining us & helping

Can I apply as a musician?

Absolutely! We accept applications in January of each year via our application form.

Please understand that we only accept applications via this form and do not process applications via email or Facebook.

Can I apply for the DrumHerum program?

Yes, our DrumHerum program includes workshops designed to make life more beautiful, respectful, conscious, sustainable and much more. We are also always looking for creative performances. Please use our application form.

Can I become part of the crew?

Of course - we are always looking for energetic hands and bright minds! To become part of the crew, you must be 18 years old at the time of the festival. Your exact shifts will be assigned shortly before the festival. Please do not buy a presale ticket!

If you would like to help, you have two options:

1. you earn your ticket during or after the festival.

2. you earn your ticket before the festival.

Write in the comment section of the form if you have a favourite work area. Or if you have an exceptionally helpful talent or do an exceptionally helpful job (e.g. welding, sewing, electrics or you can operate heavy equipment).

However, we do not guarantee that we will actually consider your request.

Signing up to work is not an “option” - we rely on you, schedule you and don't give this shift to other people! Each of these shifts is super important for the smooth running of the festival.

When will I receive my employee ticket?

The employee tickets will only be sent out shortly before the festival.

What areas of work are there?

Set-up, dismantling, garbage collector, steward, parking lot helper, jumper, dishwashing professional and many more.

Everything about minors & family

I am u18 - can I visit the Klangtherapie Festival?

Yes, with a legal guardian who is at least 21 years old. Important: We only accept our own form - other authorizations are not valid at the entrance. You can find the form and all the relevant information here. Please read it completely - it will save you time and nerves at the entrance.

I would like to come with my family.

Families at a techno festival - unthinkable for us in the past. Not since we had children ourselves. We have deliberately created space for this.

Children and young people under the age of 16 are welcome during the day between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. - in the direct company of their parents. Exception: the bass temple - this is reserved for adults.

And don't forget your hearing protection.

Which tickets do children and young people need?

Children from 0-2 years free of charge, 3-15 years children's ticket, from 16 years full price.

Please do not forget your child's ID and the completed form.

Is there an area for younger guests?

Yes - the Kids Space. From Friday to Sunday, there is a special program there: crafts, games, discoveries - with nature and upcycling materials, accompanied by experienced educators.

You can find the program on site.

Do children have to wear hearing protection?

Yes, absolutely. Protect your little ones from hearing damage and either bring suitable hearing protection or borrow one for €5 from the info container. (+20 € deposit)

Is there a quieter campsite for families?

There are two family campsites for families - a quiet one that is a little further away from the hustle and bustle of the festival and a very close, but louder campsite. Talk to our parking lot attendants and tell them which of the two campsites you would like to go to.

What happens if the WoMo tickets are sold out?

If you would still like to come as a family by camper van, buy a camper van ticket for the normal campsite. This will secure you a pitch on the campsite directly adjacent to the family campsite. It's worth arriving early - first come, first serve.

Are children allowed to run around on the whole festival site?

Basically, you can explore the whole area with your children - with one exception: the Bass Temple is a child-free zone in the morning hours before the workshops begin.

Everything to do with inclusion

Are there parking spaces and a campsite for people with disabilities?

Yes,

please register in advance by email.

I have a pass for people with severe disabilities with a label B, can I bring an accompanying person with me?

Yes, you are welcome to take an accompanying person with you free of charge. Both come to the info container, show your ID and your companion will receive a wristband directly

I have a problem with noise levels and therefore need a quieter place to camp, is there one?

Yes, we have a quiet campsite, talk to our parking lot attendants, they will explain where you have to go.

What is the nature of the terrain?

The condition of our grounds is unfortunately dependent on the weather - so it is only partly in our hands. In good weather, the entire site is barrier-free.

What about accessible toilets?

At our campsite for people with walking disabilities, which is located directly at the entrance to the festival site, there is a barrier-free porta-potty. This is locked and you can pick up the key at the information container.

Everything to do with sustainability and waste

Who cleans up all the garbage?

Good question - this is really where you come in! Because we are just a small crew of volunteers and collecting garbage is a lot of work. The meadow needs to be clean again, and even small pieces of plastic, butts and bottle caps need to be picked up. That's why it would be cool if each of you collected a bag full of garbage - after all, it's your garbage too! And the sooner it's gone, the sooner nature can recover from our festival.

How can the Klangtherapie-festival be made more sustainable?

We dream of a world in which ecological sustainability and social justice are a matter of course! That's why we have 90% vegetarian/vegan stalls*, some of which are organic, where you can bring your own dishes. We separate our waste, create our decorations largely through upcycling and feed the crew and artists with organic food. Our supporting program with over 65 workshops, lectures and forms of movement such as yoga also opens up perspectives on a more conscious life and on nature and the environment.

_____

*The remaining 10% is the bratwurst stand. Organized on a voluntary basis by the Schressendorf volunteer fire department. These are our immediate neighbors who have been sympathetic to our festival for 20 years. For peace in our region, this bratwurst stand is, so to speak, the link between the festival and the local residents. We are therefore happy to accept that there is only one stall here that is allowed to sell meat (directly from the rural butcher next door).

How does it work with the garbage deposit?

With your ticket you have paid an extra 5 euros as a garbage deposit or “garbage solidarity surcharge”. You can get this back if you show solidarity with the environment and the Klangtherapie crew by handing in a full bin bag with a waste deposit stamp.

When and where can I drop off my waste?

You can drop off your full (!) garbage bags at the garbage station at the campsite on Sunday from 8 am - 7 pm and Monday from 8 am - 12 pm.

Everything about Franconian Switzerland

Where can I swim?

The small but beautiful and, above all, extremely refreshing Wiesent river flows through Wadendorf. Show respect for the environment and do not use care products such as sun cream, shampoo or shower gel there and take your garbage back with you.

Only the designated bathing areas may be used!

Are there also swimming pools?

If you want to dive even deeper, head to one of the nearby swimming pools. One is located in Hollfeld and the other in Waischenfeld.

Where are the nearest shops?

In Hollfeld, about 7 km in the direction of the highway, you will find supermarkets, gas stations, pharmacies and ATMs.

What else can I do in the area?

In the Franconian Switzerland Nature Park, there are endless beautiful things to do and wonderful landscapes to discover - whether on foot, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking on the Wiesent, climbing up to the sky or descending on a cave tour!

If you would like to add a few more days to your vacation, you can find all the information about the area here.
