We'll make it short and sweet: we won't be holding a festival this year either. Our deadline for Hopp or Topp was mid-June. According to current Bavarian policy, open air events with only 500 seats and other requirements (mandatory testing or vaccination/recovery, social distancing) should be allowed to take place even with low incidences. It is clear that there are currently frequent changes to the regulations. But we still think it is unlikely that in 7 weeks (in Bavaria) it will be possible to celebrate such festivals as we know and love them. A festival on the Field of Honor without movement, closeness and spontaneity is somehow unimaginable. Even if events with more visitors are allowed over the course of the summer, this would mean severe restrictions for us. In addition to the usual effort, a lot of energy would have to be invested in the necessary infrastructure (e.g. test station, seating, more sanitary facilities,...) and organization (e.g. hygiene concept, communication with authorities).
On the one hand, it feels strange & sad to cancel the festival for the second time in a row. On the other hand, we think it's a real shame that in over a year of the pandemic, no concepts have been tested and reviewed to make it possible to come together. In our opinion, this paves the way for illegal parties without adhering to any rules. However, these decisions are not in our hands.
At the same time, it's a load off our minds to finally have certainty for the summer and time for other plans and projects or simply to enjoy life.
It certainly feels like the right decision for us! The extended break is obviously good for us, the field and the surrounding nature! :)

Important: All tickets that have not been donated or canceled by 1.8.2021 are automatically valid for 2022. So if you want to keep your ticket until next year, you do not need to fill out the form. We reserve the right to charge you a surcharge next year if the ticket price increases.
